About These Terms & Social Ark Entity
These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Social Ark Pty Ltd ("BookitSocial", "we", "us", "our"), registered and headquartered in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.
By downloading the BookitSocial mobile app, creating an account, booking tickets, purchasing passes, reserving Living Table seats, or listing an experience as a host, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms.
Eligibility & Australian Service Scope
You must be at least 18 years of age to create a BookitSocial account or make any booking. By registering, you warrant that you are 18 or older and possess legal capacity to enter into binding agreements.
Our platform operates exclusively for events and dining experiences within Australia (covering Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland, Western Australia, South Australia, and other Australian territories). All monetary amounts are quoted and collected in Australian Dollars (AUD).
Account Responsibilities & Security
You are responsible for keeping your phone login verification codes, email credentials, and linked payment devices confidential. Any booking, chat message, or transaction made from your authenticated account will be attributed to you.
If you discover unauthorized access or a lost phone, notify our security team immediately at info@bookitsocial.co. You can also view and revoke active device sessions in the mobile app settings at any time.
Bookings, Stripe Payments & Expiring Locks
All payment transactions are encrypted and processed through our payment partner, Stripe Connect. We do not store raw card numbers on our servers.
Free meetups are confirmed immediately upon tapping RSVP. If approval is required by the host, confirmation occurs once approved.
When you begin checkout for a paid event ticket, seats are held for 15 minutes to prevent race-condition double bookings. If payment is not completed within 15 minutes, the lock expires and seats release to other guests.
Passes grant entry within a specific local venue time window. Entry passes are scanned at the door via QR and are non-transferable unless permitted in the event details.
Living Tables, Bill Splits & Dine-in Fees
BookitSocial provides dynamic Living Tables that synchronize bookings across friends in real time:
- •The $2 Dine-in Seat Fee: To prevent venue ghost tables and ensure honest attendance, a nominal $2 booking fee holds each reserved seat. At participating venues that accept in-app bill settlement, that $2 is credited back directly toward your bill.
- •Seat Invites & Coverage: The table booker may invite friends to join empty seats. Friends may pay their own seat fee or the organizer may choose to cover seats for their guests upfront.
- •In-App Bill Settlement: When the venue publishes the table's food and drinks total, guests can split evenly, allocate itemized amounts, or settle instantly via saved card.
Tiered Cancellation & Refund Schedule
Our transparent refund schedule is calculated based on the local start time of the event:

Event Cancellations by Hosts: If an event or session is cancelled or rescheduled by the host, attendees receive a 100% full refund automatically back to the original payment method, in accordance with Australian Consumer Law.
Community Standards & Host Obligations
BookitSocial is a respectful community built for going out with people you know or are excited to meet. The following activities are strictly prohibited:
- ✕Harassment, stalking, discriminatory hate speech, or abuse in 1:1 or table chats.
- ✕Fraudulent event listings, scalping tickets above face value, or impersonating hosts.
- ✕Spamming commercial promotions or external links unapproved by event organizers.
Host Verification: Organisers creating ticketed events or venue table books must undergo identity and bank verification through Stripe Connect prior to publishing or receiving payouts.
Australian Consumer Law Guarantees
While we facilitate safe guest lists, tickets, and reservations, BookitSocial is an intermediary platform connecting guests and venue operators. Hosts remain independently responsible for the actual delivery, quality, safety, and venue conditions of their events.
Governing Law & Contact Information
These Terms and any dispute arising under or in connection with them are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Victoria, Australia. You submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria and the Commonwealth of Australia.
